Business and Non-Profit Experiences:

            Public Relations and Marketing Specialist, then Vice President, then CEO of Edna Hibel Corp., 1980-2009. Responsible for all branding and information campaigns: Editor and writer for newsletter with 3,000 member readers; write and place all press releases, news articles, books, public service announcements, web site copy, and e-mails; organize and appear in radio and television interviews; produce and direct print and television advertisements with William-Tod Advertising; organize all trade shows; manage all departments of a publishing company of 85 employees, including HR, finances, product development, marketing, production, and fulfillment.

            Executive Trustee, Hibel Museum of Art, 1990-2005. Organize all exhibitions and concerts; write and produce all educational materials, such as posters, catalogs, and brochures; contribute to the production of books and broadcast materials; supervise 15 staff and docent volunteers; produce an award-winning documentary that appeared on more than 100 PBS stations across the country.

Principal Research Consultant, “The Plymouth Harbour Experiment,” an experiment in human development with the residents, staff, and administrators of a large independent living facility.

Environmental Researcher, Environmental Research and Technology, Inc. Conducted social research and wrote for environmental impact statements describing the effects of noise and other construction activities on the social fabric of neighborhoods in Boston, Massachusetts. 

Census Enumerator and Fingerprinting Assistant, U.S. Bureau of the Census, Palm Beach County, Florida (paid positions), April-July, 2010. Responsible for collecting the Decennial Census data in person and by telephone.

Writing Consultant, Florida Atlantic University Center for Excellence in Writing, 2013-current,   Provide Master Level Tutoring, face-to-face and online, in writing for graduate and undergraduate students; and teach family and society to honors college students. 

Writing Consultant, Florida Atlantic University Community Center for Excellence in Writing, 2014-current, Provide Master Level Tutoring in one-on-one consultations and in small workshops, in writing for businesses and nonprofit organizations.  Developed workshop on how to write stellar press releases, e-mails and professional communications, and memoirs; co-developed workshop on how to write memoirs, biographies, and autobiographies; and conducted workshops in how to write college application essays.

Adjunct Instructor of Sociology, 2009-Current, Palm Beach State College:

Writer and Assistant Director of educational videos for faculty; facilitator of first inter-collegiate Professional Learning Group for faculty and staff; organizer and moderator for social science career panel; presenter of critical thinking workshops to faculty, staff, and students; and tutor of social sciences, writing, and reading to students to facilitate their academic success in the college’s student learning center. Presenter of student workshops in critical thinking, locating main ideas, and speed reading. Advise and teach students sociology courses.

Adjunct Instructor, MedVance Institute (now Fortis College), 2009, Palm Springs, Florida: Advise students and teach technical communication to students in the inaugural biomedical technician program.
